Our Statement of Faith
- The Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture
We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired Word of God, true and without errors as originally written. As such, all matters of faith and practice for the Christian life should be deferred to the Bible as the foundation for our thoughts and actions. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)
- The Trinity
- The Spiritual Lostness of the Human Race
We believe that every person is created in the image of God, by God, and for God’s glory. However, because all people have sinned, every person is condemned to and deserving of spiritual death, which is separation from God/eternal punishment. Since all people are sinners by nature and practice, they are unable to reconcile themselves to Holy God through any work of their own.
- The Full Deity and Humanity of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and by the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and through a virgin birth, became fully man. As such, he lived a sinless life and will forever remain wholly God and man, the only realized hope for lost mankind.
- The Substitutionary Atonement and Bodily Resurrection of Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ was willingly put to death on a cross and buried, but after three days he rose from the dead and then ascended into heaven where he now sits at the right hand of the Father. As such, his death fully paid the death/blood penalty our sins demanded so that all who believe in him are declared righteous, sealed with the Holy Spirit, who enables right living, and are forever reconciled to God.
- Salvation by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, in Christ Alone
We believe that reconciliation to God and salvation from our sin penalty is offered to man as an act of grace (undeserved favor) to any who place their faith in Christ alone —turning away (repentance) from our own efforts and religious devices and instead trusting in the completed and vicarious death of Christ as payment for our sin.
- The Physical Return of Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ will one day physically return to earth to conquer evil, redeem his creation, and bring the whole world to the knowledge of God. We believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting reward of those in right relationship with God in a new heaven and new earth, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son.
