God’s Plan of Salvation

Know God loves you…
“God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Your sin separates
you from God…
“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23;
“Your iniquities have separated you from God.” Isaiah 59:2; “The wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23a
Marvel at what Jesus did to bring you to God…
“… but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord…”
Romans 6:23b
“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.”  1 Peter 3:18
Respond by asking Jesus to be your Savior and Lord…
“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10: 9-10

How do I become a Christian?

Becoming a Christian is the most important decision you will ever make in your life – because it impacts not just the time you spend on earth but also where you will spend eternity. You become a Christian by placing your faith in Jesus Christ and accepting Him as your Savior.

Receiving Christ is a matter of inviting Jesus into your life, asking for and accepting His forgiveness for your sins and allowing Him to become your Lord and Savior. At Frederica Baptist, we would love nothing more than to guide you through this prayerful step of faith.

Our Statement of Faith

  1. The Authority and Inerrancy of Scripture

We believe the entire Bible to be the inspired Word of God, true and without errors as originally written. As such, all matters of faith and practice for the Christian life should be deferred to the Bible as the foundation for our thoughts and actions. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21)

  1. The Trinity
We believe in one God, Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As such, these three are united in substance, without confusion or contradiction in their attributes, and are alone worthy of our worship and obedience.

  1. The Spiritual Lostness of the Human Race

We believe that every person is created in the image of God, by God, and for God’s glory.  However, because all people have sinned, every person is condemned to and deserving of spiritual death, which is separation from God/eternal punishment. Since all people are sinners by nature and practice, they are unable to reconcile themselves to Holy God through any work of their own.

  1. The Full Deity and Humanity of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and by the miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and through a virgin birth, became fully man. As such, he lived a sinless life and will forever remain wholly God and man, the only realized hope for lost mankind.

  1. The Substitutionary Atonement and Bodily Resurrection of Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ was willingly put to death on a cross and buried, but after three days he rose from the dead and then ascended into heaven where he now sits at the right hand of the Father. As such, his death fully paid the death/blood penalty our sins demanded so that all who believe in him are declared righteous, sealed with the Holy Spirit, who enables right living, and are forever reconciled to God.

  1. Salvation by Grace Alone, through Faith Alone, in Christ Alone

We believe that reconciliation to God and salvation from our sin penalty is offered to man as an act of grace (undeserved favor) to any who place their faith alone in Christ alone —turning away (repentance) from our own efforts and religious devices and instead trusting in the completed and vicarious death of Christ as payment for our sin.

  1. The Physical Return of Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ will one day physically return to earth to conquer evil, redeem his creation, and bring the whole world to the knowledge of God. We believe in the bodily resurrection of everyone who has lived, the everlasting reward of those in right relationship with God in a new heaven and new earth, and the everlasting punishment of those who have rejected God’s forgiveness in His Son.

  1. The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which He is the head.  It is made up of all those who have been called into fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ (believers).  The church has been given the privilege of being Christ’s ambassadors here on earth, making disciples.  The purpose of a local church is to train and equip workers for the Lord of the Harvest through worship, discipleship and sending and to provide a spiritual refuge and a place of healing for the lost and broken. At Frederica Baptist, we recognize Believers Baptism and the Lord’s Supper as the two ordinances of the church.
